Facsimile Edition of the Manuscript Held in Fryderyk Chopin Museum in Warsaw

[Impromptu, no.1 <op.66>, C sharp minor]

Chopin, Impromptu in C Sharp Minor [op.66]

Works by Chopin—Facsimile Edition, [35] A III/66. Warsaw, 2017. Oblong, 33 x 24 cm, 2 vols, 4, 41 pp. Full-color halftone of the autograph fair copy. This impromptu offers us an initial idea of how Chopin understood the genre. According to Fontana the work was composed in 1834 and not intended for publication by the composer, and only issued after his death with the title “Fantaisie-Impromptu”. Designed to a da capo form with coda, in stylistic terms it stands largely within the sphere of the brilliant style. Commentary (Pol-Eng-Ger-Sp-Fr-Jp) by Zofia Chechlińska. Bound in blue linen, with matching slipcase. $78  (view other volumes from this series)
