Line-cut of the 1852 edition, together with introduction and translations in It-Eng. Saint-Léon invented a system of dance notation using a five-line staff for leg positions, with a single line above it for head and arm positions, over which were notated modified stick figures. “La sténochorégraphie” includes movements from La Vivandiér, Giselle and Il Basilico.
