Documenta Musicologica, II/46. Kassel, 2013. Oblong, 34 x 25 cm, 14, 24 pp.

Completely new color facsimile of the autograph score in its original loose bifolio and folio format. “Eine kleine Nachtmusik” or “party music” calls for 2 violins, viola, violoncello and bass (string quintet) but it is often performed by a larger orchestra. Through some special undisclosed arrangement this amazing autograph fair copy—in private hands in Switzerland since the early 1950s—has been re-photographed for this meticulous facsimile edition. In four movements, it originally consisted of five, a second movement (two minuets and their trio) is now lost. This facsimile in the original format puts to rest theories on how that music may have been “ripped out” as there is no evidence of the forceful removal of material (what is missing is simply a leaf after the first bifolio). Includes a b/w reproduction of the first draft (16 bars) to the slow movement now in the possession of the Mozarteum  in Salzburg. Afterword in Eng-Ger. Limited bibliophile edition with beautiful clam shell case covered in red moire silk.  A great gift for any Mozart lover.
