Mozart. Quintet, piano & winds K.452

"I myself consider it to be the best thing I have written in my life"
(W.A. Mozart, letter to his father shortly after the premiere 1 April 1784)

Collection Dominantes. Courlay, 1999. Oblong, 4°, xxvi, 9 + 32 pp. Line-cut of the autograph score and sketch (Ms. 221 & 250, Bibliothèque Nationale, Paris) and autograph fragment (Ms. Fot. 2449, Staatsbibliothek Preussischer Kulturbesitz, Berlin). Uncommon for Mozart we are fortunate to have a sketch for this piece showing the composer going through various "reworkings". Beethoven pays homage to the work with his Quintet op.16 in the same key. Introduction in Fr-Eng-Ger. Wrappers. $43
