Venice printed partbooks (tenor, alto, basso, continuo) issued by
Alessandro Vincenti from the only extant copy, together with a new
critical edition. This wonderful Marian hymn going back to the 12th c.
is one of four antiphons sung at different times within the Christian
calendar. Monteverdi’s moving setting, adroitly set in the "modern
