detail of page

Publications du Centre de Documentation Claude Debussy, V. Geneva, 1989. 22 x 30 cm, xxii, 61, i pp. Line-cut of the autograph of the working draft, replete with revisions. This facsimile reunites, for the first time in 55 years, the constituent parts of the manuscript. Written in 1915—in the composer’s words after the long drought imposed on my brain by the war”—this is the only complete working draft that survives for any of Debussy’s piano collections; as such, it allows a unique glimpse into the composer’s workshop. Introduction in Eng-Fr. Wrappers in laid paper. $63 (few copies remaining)
